The museum in
some words
La case patrimoniale de Bangoua presents an exhibition on the theme of “Art, hunting and traditions”. Leukemegne, ancestor and builder of the Bangoua kingdom, was a great hunter, and this age-old activity is at the heart of the foundation and development of the cultural and artistic diversity of many African peoples, including the Bangoua group. The museum is divided into two parts: the first presents the chiefdom, its history and traditions, while the second deals with hunting and its principles, in Bangoua, Cameroon and as far afield as Mali.
In 2022, the chiefdom lent objects for the exhibition « On the Chieftaincy Route of Cameroon » . These objects were returned to their rightful place at the end of the exhibition.
