The museum in
some words

A symbolically powerful building on the verdant site of Lake Dschang, the Museum of Civilization is a major community project with a regional and national vocation. Its contemporary African architecture is characterized by a symphony of symbols: spider, buffalo, elephant, mask, writing… This cultural tool is conceived as an interpretation center offering a general reading of the history of Cameroon, of man in his natural, socio-cultural and economic environment through 5 thematic areas: the singular history of Cameroon, the lords of the forest, the Water Peoples where water is at the heart of life, North Cameroon and its mosaic of builder peoples, and the Grassfields chieftaincies, an alliance between tradition and modernity.
