Lying between Bafoussam and Foumban, Mount Mbapit is an ancient volcano which rises to an altitude of nearly 1988 metres. It features a crater lake, towered over by 200 metres high walls. The ultimate reward for climbing to the lake is the amazing view of the untouched nature stretching for miles around. The legend says that a stone thrown in the lake would never reach the water surface, it is thus called the “mystical lake” !
