Batoufam heritage hut: Architecture, power and social cohesion

One of the remarkable features of this chiefdom is its open-air layout, with architecture as its common thread. The museum has been set up directly in the heart of this open-air chieftaincy. Through a guided or self-guided tour of this labyrinthine palace, the community museum reveals the rich architecture of this chiefdom and, through it, the history and socio-political organization of Batoufam. This heritage hut reveals the genius and multi-faceted know-how of a kingdom founded in the 18^th century.

In 2022, the chiefdom lent objects for the exhibition « Sur la Route des Chefferies du Cameroun ». These objects were returned to their rightful place at the end of the exhibition.
