Bapa heritage hut: People, nature and beliefs

« Homme, nature et croyances » is the theme around which the heritage hut of Bapa, a chiefdom located in the Hauts-Plateaux region, was designed. This community museum works to preserve and promote the socio-cultural, artistic, environmental and spiritual values of this community. At the initiative of His Majesty SIMEU David II, the Bapa heritage hut was inaugurated in 2018 and is part of the Route des Chefferies network, from which it has benefited. In line with the museum’s theme, the use of local materials and know-how was favored.

The exhibition in this museum is organized around seven themes: Discovering the history and organization of chieftaincy; soak up perception of nature at the Bapa; value traditional skills and architecture ; to show culinary arts, think on the need to preserve the environment; merge in an outdoor patio built around the sacred tree.

In 2022, the chiefdom lent objects for the exhibition « Sur la Route des Chefferies du Cameroun ». At the end of the exhibition, these objects were returned to the chieftaincy and the museum.
