The museum in
some words
The Bamendjinda heritage hut is one of the first and only museums in the world to focus on the history of slavery. It has benefited from the expertise of the Route des Chefferies, renowned researchers and international organizations specialized in this story. The first part of the museum is devoted to the history of the Bamendjinda group. The second presents the diversity of slavery, the slave trade and its historical and social consequences in the chiefdom and worldwide. The museum participates in the duty to remember this history.
In 2022, the chiefdom lent objects for the exhibition « On the Chieftaincy Route of Cameroon ». These objects were returned to their rightful place at the end of the exhibition.
