Bafou heritage hut: Totemism

Bafou means “the people who search, who seek, who accept nothing without understanding its substance”. The creation of the Bafou heritage hut is the result of research, inventory and reconstitution work, as the chiefdom suffered from the looting and destruction of its heritage during the independence struggles. The chosen theme is “totemism”, a universe into which visitors plunge, between mysticism and reality. In 2022, the chieftaincy loaned objects for the “Sur la Route des Chefferies du Cameroun” exhibition. These objects were returned to their rightful place at the end of the exhibition.
